Head of Project managment - UK- loclaization secorty - Buckinghamshire
Summary:
To take overall responsibility for managing all translation work and to ensure the effective delivery of our translation services. To manage the translations coordinators, in-house translators and freelance translators. To be actively involved in developing quality systems and procedures for translations and for client services.
Reports to: General Manager, Company Director
?To take overall responsibility for the effective delivery of all translation services, monitoring workflow and ensuring high quality translations are delivered on time in the required format
?To implement business plans as they affect the production of translations
?To manage and develop the translation coordinators and in-house translators
?To be responsible for ensuring there is an adequate pool of quality freelance translators for all languages required
?To prepare regular reports for the General Manager
?To implement quality control strategies and procedures and productivity strategies and controls
?To conduct daily production meetings to ensure the office workload is fairly distributed and any issues are raised and dealt with promptly
?To initiate and attend client visits on a regular basis
?To ensure regular client contact is maintained and that post-delivery follow-up calls are placed promptly and in accordance with company procedures
?To actively pursue sales leads and participate in winning new business and preparing proposals
?To ensure that clients are invoiced correctly and promptly, within 3 working days of job delivery
?To ensure that up to date financial details are kept on all freelance translators
?To ensure that the orderbook is updated on a daily basis and that monthly turnover figures are produced on time
?To ensure that our quoting policy is adhered to and that a record of quotes is kept up to date
?To help establish and monitor personnel procedures, training and support to ensure best practice in the management, development, recruitment and induction of staff
?To ensure that policies and procedures are complied with, including for quality, production and finances
?To assist in ensuring that current and future IT systems meet our production needs
?To ensure our translation project management software system continues to meet the company?s needs and coordinate any changes
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
?At least 3 years? proven track record in translation management
?Effective people manager able to lead, support and develop staff
?Ability to cope with demanding workloads, remain calm under pressure and persevere with tasks
?Commercial, negotiating and financial skills to control costs and maximise profitability
?Excellent customer care skills
?Strong computer skills including PC and proficiency and familiarity with Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail, and Internet
?Good knowledge of Trados
?High accuracy and quality standards and attention to detail
?Adaptable and flexible to changing work environment, able to systematically plan, develop and deliver strategies and work plans
?Ability to work within a team environment
?Fluent in English and at least one other language
Experience:
At least 3 years? proven track record in translation management.
